Our Story
Mothership Studios is where creativity meets comfort, a unique production and writing studio designed with the electronic producer in mind, but set up so musicians and vocalists can be recorded onto a track at the click of a finger.
we designing a studio work flow with the intention of making it so simple you can use all the classic synths that invented house and techno as easily as working on a laptop at home
Our journey started with two sound engineers working in world class recording studio’s catering to high end clients like Kanye West and Rihanna, with a passion for electronic music and frustrated no where offered the high end day hire studio environment for DJ / Producers, and elctronic artists.
We wanted to design something with the comfort of the best studios, and the usability of a simple DAW like Ableton, and a collection of synthesizers and drum machines so hench it was intimidating! But also so comfortable you just want to hang out there.
It was important to us to have the best collection of electronic instruments on hand, such as the MPC, Juno 106 or Roland TB-303, but hard wired with the back end studio architecture that Rihanna or Kanye West has access, and with plenty of guitars or tamberines on hand if you want to add human feel to your robot rock…
Not just a place to create music, but a place to do video interviews, create content, or host album play back sessions with management and record label A & R.
We believe great sessions come from the right balance of good people, the right atmosphere and great equipment. The studio was designed to feel relaxed and easy to work in — with comfy sofas, a calm space to spend time in, and everything you need to focus on making music.
At the centre of the studio is a carefully selected collection of recording gear chosen for its sound, character and character. Our aim has always been simple: bring world-class music equipment into an accessible, creative space where artists can feel at home.
Based in Peckham Levels, the studio sits within one of South London’s most exciting creative communities. After a session it’s easy to head upstairs to Multi-Story, take in the view across London and unwind after a day in the studio.
Mothership Studios is simply a place to come and make music — great gear, good vibes, and a creative home in Peckham.
